"It's not in the Apple"

By: Kay Vaughn
His Image Manifested Blog Contributor

You know the ole adage; An apple a day keeps the doctor away. It's true, there are many health benefits to eating apples. But, for life, the pursuit of happiness, family, marriage, developing your walk with Christ, understanding his word and his character. You will need to ingest more that an apple.

I believe that the word of God has been distorted by those who cannot rightly divide it or want to take the time to get the true meaning. So they infer and confuse the word of God. Not meaning Christian s these days open the bible they care. (It seems to be for appearances only) God never created his word to be so difficult, that we couldn't understand it,. He said : Ask and it shall be given unto you. Then he said: If any man lack wisdom , open up your mouth and ask.

Somehow the word from Genesis to Revelation has been reduce to the three scriptures we have committed to memory but, don't live by because we don't really know what it is saying. For Christians everywhere, it is time to learn who we are; what we can do; what we can have; and the authority we possess by right dividing the word. If you were placed in the woods in the dark, and someone said: I have placed lanterns along the road so you can get to your destination. You would follow it because you cannot see and you want out of the darkness,

Your God and mine has left such a lantern. His word has enough light to illuminate any dark area in you life. It is the road map that ensures you are in his will and reach your destination. I am destine to win because his words says, I win!! I am adopting these words because of his word.

When life is heavy and I am down and out, I have a saviour who left a road map.
He carefully wrote out all I need, to lift this heaviness off of me. I've been weighed
down by things I should be walking on.  I've been carrying this load way to long. My
Saviour has already done all this for me, I would know if I just stop and read. I'm laying
down all things that don't pertain to me. Because God said: I could make a decree. An
apple  a day , is good for some. But I am going to take this word and run. Run my race
and overcome, because the victory; I've already won.

"Looking at Yourself & Your Stuff the way He Does"

From "Jumpstart P.E.P. Talk"
September 14, 2014

I had a conversation with a lady whom I met a few months ago.  We are becoming dear friends.  She and I were talking about how young ladies who are very close to us use excuses for when they mess up, fail or choose not to do something in excellence.  She mentioned to me that this young lady is consistently negative in her talk and has come to expect the worse in her situation.  This girl has allowed human nature to clog her vision of what really is.

Allowing our vision to be clogged by what we have been conditioned to believe is true evidenced by facts is not a characteristic of our new nature.  It is human nature to believe what we see, taste, touch, feel, smell and hear.  It is normal to automatically agree with our senses.  This is human nature: Our senses verifies and makes evident what's going on in our environment.  This gives life to our knowledge base.  Our knowledge base is what shapes belief and belief is what we use to base our words and actions on.

The Lord reminded me of something that He had spoken to my spirit about seven years ago.  This was before the "Great Recession".  He said, "Joslyn, you are never broke because broke doesn't exist in heaven.  You are never sick, because sickness doesn't exist in heaven.  You are never in fear, because fear doesn't exist is heaven.  You are never depressed, because depression doesn't exist in heaven."  I think you get the point by now.  God was preparing me for a battle that I didn't even know that I was going to face.

You see God wanted me to focus on truth, not facts.  It was a fact that my home had lost thousands of dollars in value; just like millions of others.  It was a fact that my family went through a cancer scare with my niece.  It was a fact that there were issues with not knowing where the group Blessed stood regarding its future.  There were so many facts swirling around that vied fore my attention.  It wanted my focus.  When we see with our natural eyes and we focus on facts, it is what shapes our thought life.  Our thought life begins to run rampant and we begin to have mental pictures that are like movies. It's as if a "replay" button has been pressed.  These mind motion pictures begin to shape our thoughts and makes us believe that "This is how it is" or "It is what it is".  NO! It is what God said it is!

When we focus on what's "fallen" rather than what's been paid for and manifested in the heaven's which has been deeded to us, we see no hope.  But, when we see what God sees through Christ's blood, we see health, strength, joy, blessing, grace, peace, faithfulness, hope and inheritance.

When Jesus went around healing, he didn't focus on the sickness.  What better way to have our eyes opened to truth than to see how Jesus saw when He walked this earth.

1. He sees life in the midst of death. When He saw the tomb Lazarus was buried in, He saw him alive and loosed.
2. He sees health in the midst of sickness. When He saw the man with the withered hand, He saw an outstretched hand; healthy and whole.
3. He sees righteousness in the midst of our mistakes. When He saw the woman about to be stoned for her adultery, He saw her forgiven and righteous.
4. He sees wholeness in the midst of brokenness.  When He felt the virtue leave His body, the woman with the issue of blood was not only healed, but made whole.

It doesn't matter how long you've been in a battle; the woman with the issue of blood suffered 12 long years.  It doesn't matter how bad it looks; Lazarus was dead four days and started to decompose.  It doesn't matter how drear your future may look. Jesus was led to the slaughter, but saw Himself resurrected with all power in His hands.  He is now seated at the right hand of the Father, seated in the heavenlies where all of your blessings are located.  As a matter of fact, it is where you are positioned.

It is up to us to ensure that the eyes of our understanding is enlightened and that we know the hope of our calling.  We must see ourselves and our stuff the way that He does.  His love for us should cause us to see truth and not mere facts.  Facts are readily available for view, but truth must be revealed.  Allow for Truth to reveal to you Himself; His unearned favor.

I hope that this word has blessed your heart and transformed your mind.  Please meditate on this word and share it with your friends and family.

I can't wait to fellowship with you!

"Blind Spots"

By: Kay M. Vaughn
His Image Manifested Blog Contributor

Blind spots are defined as areas where a person's view is obstructed. It is a place where it seems like nothing is going on, when actually you are in eminent danger. All of us have blind spots as it concerns our eyes, and the size of the blind spot differs from person to person. The older we get the larger it grows.

In the spirit realm we have blind spots. They take place in our spiritual understanding, and in the eyes of our heart. We can be completely unaware that something hazardous or dangerous could be near us. As in the case of Leaders; some leaders command us to serve them in the blind spot, thus we can't see what is really happening. It's called "Blind Devotion" you serve because they have manipulated the word against you. They told you this was what God wanted and expected from you. You file it under "blind devotion" and proceed to develop a belief system, that OUR loving God has designed his word in such a way, that you would always be in the blind spot. God forbid!

Jesus warned us about following blind guides. The follow-no-matter-what syndrome was best defined  in Matthew 15:14. "Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. If a man guides a blind man both will fall into a pit." But, how can you tell when blindness starts to set in? What are the symptoms to look for? There are six symptoms to help you to detect whether or not you're following blindly.
1.Authoritarianism - This is when he/she begins to repress your freedom and monopolizes all your time in the name of God.
 2. Exclusiveness - You are encouraged to not deal with anybody but the church family. You are encouraged to break commitments and ties with everyone except the church.
 3. Greed- Better known as money grubbing- You give your money, but some how it is filtered back to the leader. Your connection to him or her is the only way for you to be blessed.
 4. Sensuality - Moral purity is a must. A holy life is never optional.
 5. Unaccountability- Always blames others or surroundings. Never makes themselves accountable. This type of leader cannot be trusted.
 6. Rationalization - Justifies wrong with a defensive spirit. They will gloss over inappropriate actions ; twist spiritual truths to fit their sinful lifestyle.

These blind spots are areas the enemy utilizes as a hiding place from which he can launch his attack on our minds, emotions, heart and spirit. Because we don't see it we are unable to deal with it effectively.
We cannot get the victory over an enemy we cannot discern. Take Christ's advice"Let them alone!"

Sidebar: If you are going to follow the leader- look where you are going!

I pray that you received a Rhema word from this sister! Be careful not to go blind! Kay will guest blog on a monthly basis, so keep a watch for her here at His Image Manifested.

Love Lifts

From: August 24, 2014 “Jumpstart - P.E.P. Talk”

Love Lifts

Scripture: Romans 2:4

When noting else could help.

Recently, I have seen first-hand people who profess to be in Christ be insidious to one another.  I’ve heard double-talk, seen folks be two-faced, back-stabbers, mean-spirited; just like evil doers.  These people, at one time, were great friends and truly loved each other; or did they?  They would give one another the clothes off of their backs, make sure the other was taken care of; they were close like siblings; or were they?

Whenever Jesus talked about love, He would say to love your neighbor as yourself, which was an Old Testament Law.  It was expected that people should love one another.  But, He added a New Covenant twist to loving one another.  He said, “A new commandment I give to you. Love your neighbor as I have loved you.”  And….”If you love Me, keep my commandments.”  In all four gospels, Jesus is recorded commanding us to love one another; afterall, this is the crux of the new contract.

When we receive pure illumination of how much God loves us in Christ, we will receive the understanding on how to be gracious, loving and merciful.  We will learn how to honor people even when they are not honorable, but because it’s a part of our new nature to do so.  Your new nature in Christ shapes your character and personality.  You aren’t like you were before.  The grace, unconditional love and mercy was shown to us even when we were filthy, wretched sinner who should have been destined for destruction.  This true revelation of how much God loves us MUST be an extension of us via our character and personality.  Even when we are trespassed against, we are compelled to love, not because we are afraid that we won’t be forgiven by the Father, but because it’s in our character to love in spite of.

So what is the message that Jesus wanted us to get?
1. He wanted us to know Him as Love and Grace.
2. He wanted us to get a revelation of how much he loves us.
3. He wanted that revelation of His love to make us truly love ourselves.
4. He wanted us to reflect His love and our love for ourselves onto others; including our enemies.

God wanted us to love one another according to I Corinthians 13.  Your lack of that shows a lack of revelation of His love towards you and your lack of love for yourself.

Why is it so easy for believer’s to behave like the god of this world is their father?  It’s because there is a distorted understanding of God’s love and because we really, deep down, have acceptance and love issues with ourselves.  We have to be needed; we starve for attention and position.  We need recognition and accolades.  We need what was stripped from us or what wasn’t given to us as children. We need to make up for the hurt, strain, rejection and mess that we’ve suffered at the hands of other….AND…God forbid that someone comes along who resembles the person who hurt us in life.  You see, these people who I spoke of earlier have not yet truly experienced God’s love and received it for themselves.

Beloved, God’s love is unending, unfailing, wide, deep, long and perfect.  When we understand, accept and come to know Him as Love; it LIFTS!  Let His Love Lift you today and bring healing.  Discover who Christ really is and let His love overcome all that has broken your heart.

Love lifted me.  When nothing else could help… Love lifted me.

I hope that this word has blessed your heart and transformed your mind.  Please meditate on this word and share it with your friends and family.

I can't wait to fellowship with you!

Breaking Barriers to Raise Barriers

From: Jumpstart P.E.P. Talk
Sunday, August 17, 2014

Scripture Reference: 2 Corinthians 12: 7-10

Those of you who know me know that I love to torture myself by running miles.  Running is my preferred exercise to stay fit.  I recently "kinda" completed an eight week challenge that I gave myself from my running app.  The app makes you name the challenge.  I named it "Breaking the Barrier".  The reason why I named it that was because when I ran track in my younger years, I ran middle distance; at the most, my event was two miles.  This challenge called for me to run three, four, five and six miles each week for eight weeks.  I had never trained my body or my mind to run over two miles, so the two mile mark was a "barrier" that needed to be broken.  After the second mile, everything in my body would tell my mind to quit, that I couldn't make it and to quit the entire challenge.  Everyone who does any kind of sport knows that your mind has to be made up to win before you start the race.  If not, when the pain hits, you will quit.

After a few weeks of running my challenge, I quickly realized that I and all of us humans are in and of ourselves, weak, feeble, frail and limited; not just in our physical bodies but in our minds.  Our nature without Christ is frail, feeble and powerless; carnality at its finest. I also realized that in my frailties, Jesus loves me!  There was nothing that I did to get  God to send Jesus Christ to die on the cross to save me and there is nothing that I can do to make Him stop loving me, even when everything in me is telling me to give up.

God wants us to completely rely on Him for everything.  Our accomplishments, lack of accomplishments, abilities, lack of abilities, etc. can't matter in the scheme of things when it comes to acceptance, sufficiency and power.  We can never broker or negotiate our way into success, no matter how hard we try.  That's like boxing the wind , running in place or swimming in a riptide.  People who look good on paper aren't necessarily happy and fulfilled in Christ because our works apart from being led by Christ is fleshy and becomes a thorn in our flesh.  Verse 7 says, "Lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh....He asked the Lord to take it from him but Jesus answered, "My grace is sufficient, for my strength is made perfect in weakness."  After defining these words in context, here are what the words from that verse means.

1. Sufficient - to raise a barrier, to ward off, to be enough or to avail.
2. Strength - ability, might, power, and possibility.
3. Made - accomplish or finish.
4. Perfect - accomplish or finish.
5. Weakness - lacking in ability, might, power and possibility.

Looking at these definitions, here's what that verse is saying.  "My unmerited, unearned favor has raised a barrier to ward off the danger of pride and selfishness to avail so you can realize, believe and understand that it's enough for you.  My ability, might and power breeds, accomplishes/finishes accomplishes/finishes in the face of every lack inability, impossibility and sheer powerlessness that you have in your flesh."

No matter what your accomplishments are or what your inabilities are, God's unearned favor and love is what sustains you even when you are messed up.  It's God's power that rests on you in your weakest point to bring strength to you and make the impossible possible. You must know that God's grace is enough for you.  Nothing that you do can out perform His grace and love.  You are accepted, so stop trying to prove yourself to people who will love you one day and hate you the next.  Jesus proved everything on the cross on your behalf.  He broke every barrier to raise barriers of protection for you so that His grace would be effective in your life.  Accept it.  Believe it.

I hope that this word has blessed your heart and transformed your mind.  Please meditate on this word and share it with your friends and family.

I can't wait to fellowship with you!

Joslyn's Blog: Rabbit Ears or SatelLIGHT?

Joslyn's Blog: Rabbit Ears or SatelLIGHT?:   When we choose not to move to the next phase in which God is leading us, we end up holding "rabbit ears" with the inability to see and hear. Get with the "SatelLIGHT" so you can stay in clarity and with a high level of discernment. Share with your friends.

Rabbit Ears or SatelLIGHT?

From Jumpstart - P.E.P. Talk
August 3, 2014

"For if blood of bulls and of goats, and ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the Living God." (AMP, emphasis)

I remember when I was younger and televisions had antennas, "rabbit ears", on top of them in order to receive a good reception of basic channels.  Moreover, there were the larger antennas on top of the house that communicated with the airwaves and the antenna on your television.  At certain times, the picture would get "fuzzy" and the sound would go out which meant that the antenna needed to be adjusted either on the roof or on the television.  I remember trying to adjust the antenna for a better picture and sound.  Sometimes, when I would touch the antenna, the picture and sound would clear up and all was A-OK, but as soon as I removed my hand, the picture would mess up again. So, the person that I was then, while watching Tom & Jerry, would stand there holding the antenna so I could continue watching my show.  I stood there, arms getting tired, and getting thirstier and hungrier (it was after school, my snack time).  I was so frustrated because I had to stand there holding the rabbit ears to get the picture and sound to work.  I was doing what I had to do if I wanted to see and hear.  I always thought to myself, there has to be a better way.  Then along came cable; Cox Cable to be exact.  No more rabbit ears to hold.  It all came from satellite.  The satellite is now the source that communicates directly to the television for a quality picture and sound.

We can look at this story from a spiritual perspective.  When life becomes skewed, unclear and cloudy; we do whatever we have to do in our own strength so that we can hear and see.  WE THINK WE CAN FIX IT.....So, we go and try to fix life's problems by standing there and holding the rabbit ears; getting thirstier and hungrier.  As a result we begin moving through life on the road to the driest places in our lives because we won't take our hands off  long enough to go to the "Well" and drink from Him and be led of His Holy Spirit in Whom He left for us to lead us and live in us.

Holding the rabbit ears is like performing dead works.  It's the blood of Jesus that purges our conscience from performing dead works and gives us the mind to serve the Living God.  The ultimate example that Jesus gives us is to do what we do THROUGH the eternal Spirit that leads us and guides us into all truth, provides a lamp for our feet and a light to our pathway.  He often stated, "I only say and do what My Father tells me to say and do." Just as he ordered Jesus' steps, He orders our steps.

Romans 9:13 -14 confirms to us two things:

1. What we do in our fleshly effort doesn't purge our thinking or our minds from the necessity to perform dead works.

2. It was the unblemished blood of the Chosen One, the Anointed Christ and His anointing by the anointing that purges our thought patterns from continuing in dead works.

When we think that our performance is how we get to get into God's good graces and become accepted by Him is when we live in error and operate in a "dead works" mentality.  His Spirit has been sent to make you new and alive to Him so that your works are THROUGH Him.  Yes, you do have things to do in this life, but what you do is to be lead by Holy Spirit.  He's the satelLIGHT that gives you HD quality in your vision and hearing.  Which would you rather; the rabbit ears or the satelLIGHT?

I hope that this word has blessed your heart and transformed your mind.  Please meditate on this word and share it with your friends and family.

I can't wait to fellowship with you!

Joslyn's Blog: Breaking Cycles

In Abeline's voice on the movie "The Help", "Ain't choo tired of goin' round and round and round"? We "go round" many times because we live in the same cycle day in and day out. Read this blog by my friend/sister Kay Vaughn on how cycles begin and how to break them. Please share. ~Love you Loves

Breaking Cycles

Breaking Cycles

By: Kay Vaughn, His Image Manifested Blog Contributor

Does it feel like you are trapped on a hamster wheel just spinning around and around and never getting anywhere and at the end of the day, you ask yourself — “How come I didn’t get anywhere today?” People should not be surprised by the ground they never cover when they never move their feet, yet they are.

If we would only remember that when you leave a legacy; it’s just that. It will be viewed by others.  Much of what your children, grand-children or great-grandchildren live out or live with will be determined by our determination to the Break the Cycle.

The definition of a Cycle is not a season. A Cycle – is a chronic and consistent pattern of behavior that is inconsistent with God’s intention for our life.  It’s a life script; that when God sees us in the Cycle or living out the life script, he says: you can do better than this! God knows we are stuck. We have all experienced Cycles, if we are completely honest. We have examples in the word that shows cycles have existed for a long time. Let's look at a few: Mark 5 the woman with the issue of blood for (12yrs); Luke 13 the woman with spirit of infirmity for (18yrs) and the Man at the pool of Bethesda for (30yrs). The same God that broke their Cycle is willing to break yours.

God showed me something in the text of Numbers 13.  Some Cycles cannot be broken until we address our sight problem.  The spies went out to spy the land. For 40 days they were scouting out the land, but when they came back they reported what they saw. It was at that moment that set a cycle in to motion.  They said: "We are grasshoppers in our site and in their sight as well."  10 people told the Children of Israel who they were to themselves and to others. WOW! They believed what they said and stayed STUCK all because they followed the thought pattern of the ten men!

Side Bar- "When you allow somebody to stop you from being and doing; you do so with glasses they gave you." - Dharius Daniels

The enemy uses tools of intimidation to get us to avoid a fixed fight. God will fight for us and has already won the battle!!! You can’t focus on the giants but rather focus on the God of the giants.  Like Mose,s God will give us a specific route that will get us to Canaan (our promise land) so we don’t have to go the way of the Philistine (through a dry place). Whatever Cycle you are in you must find the courage to come OUT!!

Here are five things to help you break it:
·         Call it what it is—A Cycle!!!!
·         Correct your sight problem (renew your mind). See yourself free of it!
·          Let God give you the route out with HIS word.
·         When God paid your ransom- he redeemed us- Our potential changed!! We are no longer conquerors;    we are MORE THAN CONQUERORS- because our ability to accomplish things always increases.
·         God won't always tell you that he heard your cry; but  know he is talking to your help!!

If you start identifying the Cycles God will most assuredly give you power over it. You already seated in heavenly places. Cycles keep you from reining.  So get ready, get set, And Go!!

Up High or Down Low

From Jumpstart's P.E.P. Talk on June 29, 2014

I have always loved houses that have large front porches.  Porches are spaces that can be decorated and designed with patio furniture and flowers in the spring and summer time. I have a nice sized front porch decorated with beautiful hanging baskets with colorful flowers cascading off of the sides of it.  A robin decided to build a nest in one of the hanging baskets and laid several eggs in it.  LeDerick and I didn't realize it until the eggs hatched.  Oftentimes, when the meteorologist calls for rain, we like to take the baskets down to ensure that the flowers get fresh rain water.  One evening, rain was in the forecast, so we left the baskets down over night.  The next day when I went to put them back up, baby bird remains were all over my porch.

Birds know to live UP HIGH.
Have you ever wondered why birds build their nests up high?  It's designed to keep the nesting bird and their young from predators.  Birds just know to build their nests up high; it's in their nature. You must realize that your mentality, thought life and understanding must align with your new nature.  You must be in your mind where you are spiritually placed and seated.  This is called "mental assent".  Mental assent pertains to what beliefs, demands or proposals that you allow your mind to comply with and give in to.  This is why we are consistently reminded in the New Covenant who and whose we are.

You are:

1. Born Again - John 3:3; the message translation says you're born from above.
2. Righteous & Justified - Romans 3; in right standing with God your Father.
3. Royal Priesthood, Holy, Chosen & Peculiar - 1 Peter 2:9; it specifically states that YOU ARE, not WILL BE.
4. Quickened together with Christ. Ephesians 2
5. Saved - Ephesians 2
6. Ordained to good works - Ephesians 2
7. Loved - John 3 & 1 John 4

This is information that many of you are aware of, but may not completely believe with all of your heart.  You see my sister's (brother's too), birds know their place.  At times they come down to the ground for food, but their habitat is UP HIGH.  Their mental assent is consistent with what they were created to be.  We need to take a few lessons out of the page from how birds live.  We must keep our minds focused on our new nature, not on what our old man has done and has been.  Staying in the right position in our minds keeps us from worry, doubt, fear, shame, regret, and condemnation.  You are seated and positioned above all of it. Birds don't allow what's on the ground to keep them grounded; they still fly above it all. You are better and worth more than any and every negative situation.  You were loved into a higher place, for a higher calling and purpose for the Most High and His Kingdom.  You have been situated into an "advanced placement" program by the King of kings.  You have been promoted to a higher rank and raised up to a place where everything other than Kingdom is small and has already been dealt with through untainted blood.

I hope that this word has blessed your heart and transformed your mind.  Please meditate on this word and share it with your friends and family.

I can't wait to fellowship with you!

Do Do Do The Right Thing

Featured from - "God Pleasers"
Jumpstart P.E.P. Talk ~ Prayer Call of H.I.M.
June 24, 2014

What can you DO to please God?  What can you possibly accomplish and do for Him in this life to please Him?  What type of performance can you perform to gain merit from God?

I haven't watched too much Christian television because I have changed my paradigm on what I would like to receive in my ear gate. But, tonight my husband decided to turn on TBN.  We are looking at the same TBN studio in Dallas that Blessed ministered on a few years ago.  There were the Crouch's, Max Lucado, Tullian Tchividjian and Rich Wilkerson, Jr. teaching what I have been studying, the gospel of grace.

We are saved by grace through faith.  Many see grace as having the power to get us to the point of salvation, but the rest of living a good and pleasing life to God is up to us.  How is grace good enough to save us but not keep us?   Is it so that we must do, do, do the right thing to ensure that we are covered?  Grace is a do-over, not the do, do, doing of our works lest any man should boast.  When we are filled with the revelation of God's tremendous love for us and we consistently inundate ourselves with the fact that He paid it ALL and He was good enough to meet the conditions and requirements of the law, we will return the love and adoration for Him.

Revelation 4:11 says, "Thou art worthy O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." YES; it is ABSOLUTELY correct that you were created to please God.  To bring pleasure means to bless and to bring bliss and happiness to another.  The way that we do this is not how we have learned in the past; to work and strive our way into God's good graces.  Oftentimes we believe that we must keep busy doing any and everything whether productive, unproductive, effective, ineffective; whether it's good for our families and churches or not; as long as we stay busy for the Lord, He will see fit to reciprocate and bless me back.  Unfortunately, this is not God's way, but this is what we do, do, do so we can do right and be right.

The way to please God is live under the freedom of grace.  We are to live in the space of how He originally created us.  He created us to commune with Him, to be with Him without all of the cares and stuff that hinders our relations with Him.  Andrew Wommack says in "A Better Way to Pray", God isn't as concerned about what you do as He is who you are.  He wants your fellowship more than your service, but the church has emphasized, 'Do a work for God.'"  All of the work has been fulfilled by Jesus. When He has your heart, when He has relationship and true intimacy with you, He will get your service. You will be compelled to live a life of adoration and praise and a life of honor to your Father.

God wants you to be free in Him.  Let His grace abound and be in you.  You can't out-sin God's grace and you can't outrun God's love.  Will you allow for God's undeserved and unmerited favor overtake you?  Will you commit to investigating this truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ?  Grace is not a subject in the Christian faith that we teach.  It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The law was given by Moses, but Grace and Truth came by Jesus Christ.  Grace is a person.  Grace is Jesus.  It took Him to make the great exchange with us; our sin for His righteousness.  When you know that you are in right standing with God through Christ, you will stand right, live right and do right.

I pray that you have been blessed and encouraged by this word.  The word of God can NEVER return void, it MUST accomplish what it was set out to do.  You are GREAT in God's eyes.  See yourself as He sees you, whole.

Receive, Reiterate, Rest

"Keys to True Freedom"
From Jumpstart P.E.P. Talk
June 9, 2014

I will never forget when I was 17 years old sitting in the back of New Life Church on a Sunday morning doing what I always did in church; talk to my friends, laughing and not listening.  I looked up to the guest speaker for a split second when the Spirit of God arrested me with such beautiful words, "God wants to free you like a butterfly."  God loves you and wants to free you."  This was the day that Holy Spirit began to work triple time to close the deal on my heart.  The following Thursday night, I gave my life to Jesus at bible study.

Freedom is a noun and is defined as the power or right to act, speak or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.  It's the state of not being enslaved.  God has given us the gift of free moral agency.  That means that we get to choose, however choices and rights don't necessarily mean that you are free.  True freedom is when the "Son sets you free; you are free indeed."  "Indeed Freedom" gives you the true power or right to act, speak or think with a renewed, refined mind; the mind of Christ.

Jesus has truly done the work to set us free, however, many of us live outside of the bounds of freedom.  Many of us are bound by the cares of this life, by our flaws and our failures. These things bring discontent and lots of anxiety keeping us from sleep, productivity; and basically keeping us from living our best life in Christ.  Moving away from such anxieties can be difficult.  The written word spoken over your life that is reiterated and received brings true rest. Rest brings freedom and relief from weariness.

1 Peter 5:6 says, "So be content with who you are, and don't put on airs.  God's strong hand is on you; he'll promote you at the right time.  LIVE CAREFREE  before God; he is most careful with you." MSG (emphasis added) "Cast ALL your care upon Him; for He careth for you." KJV  When we get a true revelation and receive in our hearts that God our Father (Dad) cares for us, loves us more than we love ourselves, wants the best for us and has already planned the best for us to walk in, we will walk in true rest.
Stuff happens.  Yes, horrible stuff happens to Christian's, but our focus is to be on what Jesus did to provide us with the best and know that the best awaits us.  What we usually do is call momma, best friend, daddy, sister, husband, wife, etc. and tell them what's wrong, what's lacking, what's missing, what's broken, who did us wrong......  Do you see how we REITERATE the wrong message?  The wrong message constantly restated adds anxiety to us like a cloak; we walk around with layers of cares looking like a spiritual vagabond. We walk around like we are not sons and daughters of the King of the universe. (See Romans 8:14 - 19)

According to 1 Peter, we can do a few things to walk in our freedom.

1. Strongly reject the root of the care.
2. Cast off every care. Hurl it away from your mind and heart.
2. Keep from napping to the finished work of Christ.
3. Stay alert to the source of anxiety.
4. Keep a grip on the faith; knowing that He cares.

Psalm 55:22 says to "Cast your burden to the Lord and He shall sustain thee: He shall NEVER suffer the righteous to be moved."  You were gifted righteousness by Christ Jesus.  (See 2 Corinthians 5:21) Throw your cares onto Jesus.  He will take them and give you rest; freedom and relief from your weariness.  He will not allow for you to be moved, or removed from your position in the Kingdom of God or your status as a son or daughter.

Beloved, be sure to keep a heart of thanksgiving and remember when approaching God in prayer to pray the prayer of thanksgiving more so than bringing your stuff to Him.  He knows what you have need of before you ask.

I pray that you have been blessed and encouraged by this word.  The word of God can NEVER return void, it MUST accomplish what it was set out to do.  You are GREAT in God's eyes.  See yourself as He sees you, whole.

Dirt ain't cheap!

It was a beautiful Monday evening.  I was hanging out with the family celebrating my sons crossing over from a cub scout to a boy scout.  I didn't realize that the "Blue and Gold" ceremony was such a big deal.  The ceremony finally began and the leader at the facility in which the ceremony was held was asked to open up in prayer.  Before he prayed, however, he told a wonderful story that had recently happened to him and his business.  He told us that a few months ago, the facility that we were gathered in was going to be foreclosed upon.  They had exhausted all of their attempts to keep the building and had resolved that the inevitable would happen.  But then ten days away from foreclosure, an angel with dirty boots showed up and said, "You know you have good dirt back behind your building?"  Needless to say, this stranger came in and saved this facility from foreclosure. That's not the best part.  When LeDerick and I spoke to the leader one-on-one that evening, he told us that the dirt contract was worth $1 million and that it not only saved them from foreclosure but allowed them to do much more.

The point of the story is we always use the idiom "dirt cheap", but dirt ain't cheap.  The idiom means to be extraordinarily cheap or inexpensive.  Most idioms with the word "dirt" in it has a negative connotation.  Such idioms are throwing dirt, talking dirty, taking a dirt nap, dirt poor, dishing the dirt, digging up dirt and dirty old man to name a few.
You are valuable.

"God formed man out of dirt from the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life.  The man came alive - a living soul." Genesis 2:7 MSG

When God created Adam with dirt, He formed something good, something of value and of worth.  When Adam sinned, he soiled and tarnished the goodness that God placed in Him and he began to see himself as filthy and dirty (ironic) which is why he hid himself from God's presence.

I've always had the perception of dirt to be consistent with its definition; any foul or filthy substance  such as mud, grime, dust or excrement.  It literally means to be worthless and vile, yet God made something of tremendous value from such a substance that He would send His Son Jesus to cleanse us and to rectify the dirty feelings and thoughts that we have when we view and evaluate ourselves. Our evaluation of ourselves should ALWAYS be through the blood of Christ. After all this is how God sees us.  Our righteousness is as filthy rags.  As a matter of fact, there is no goodness in us; there's only goodness in God our Father who made us acceptable through Christ.  Born-again believer's are righteous by gift.

You may have gone through things or have done things that makes you feel dirty.  These things have threatened your confidence and when you see you, you don't see any worth.  Let me encourage you. You are perfect, whole and entire in Christ.  You are seated with Him in heavenly places.  All of your filth has been forgiven and forgotten.

This is what I've learned from that unforgettable Monday night:

1. You are important to your Father and His plans for you will not falter. Jeremiah 29:11
2. Your circumstance, no matter how far gone, is reachable. Ephesians 3:20
3. He is willing and able to help you. Hebrews 4:16
4. God is concerned about EVERY facet of your life, even to the smallest detail. Matthew 10:30
5. Dirt ain't cheap. John 3:16

Neither are you beloved.  You are priceless.  You were loved so much and there was so much worth placed on you and your life that God sent His Son who paid the ultimate price; a high price to redeem you.  This price was so high that no one else was capable of paying the debt; YOU ARE PRICELESS.

Friends, we must cease from obsessing over our shortcomings and look unto Him and who He is and what He's accomplished. Being persuaded of these things will keep us and teach us who we are #InHim.

I pray that you have been blessed and encouraged by this word.  The word of God can NEVER return void, it MUST accomplish what it was set out to do.  You are GREAT in God's eyes.  See yourself as He sees you, whole.
