"Looking at Yourself & Your Stuff the way He Does"

From "Jumpstart P.E.P. Talk"
September 14, 2014

I had a conversation with a lady whom I met a few months ago.  We are becoming dear friends.  She and I were talking about how young ladies who are very close to us use excuses for when they mess up, fail or choose not to do something in excellence.  She mentioned to me that this young lady is consistently negative in her talk and has come to expect the worse in her situation.  This girl has allowed human nature to clog her vision of what really is.

Allowing our vision to be clogged by what we have been conditioned to believe is true evidenced by facts is not a characteristic of our new nature.  It is human nature to believe what we see, taste, touch, feel, smell and hear.  It is normal to automatically agree with our senses.  This is human nature: Our senses verifies and makes evident what's going on in our environment.  This gives life to our knowledge base.  Our knowledge base is what shapes belief and belief is what we use to base our words and actions on.

The Lord reminded me of something that He had spoken to my spirit about seven years ago.  This was before the "Great Recession".  He said, "Joslyn, you are never broke because broke doesn't exist in heaven.  You are never sick, because sickness doesn't exist in heaven.  You are never in fear, because fear doesn't exist is heaven.  You are never depressed, because depression doesn't exist in heaven."  I think you get the point by now.  God was preparing me for a battle that I didn't even know that I was going to face.

You see God wanted me to focus on truth, not facts.  It was a fact that my home had lost thousands of dollars in value; just like millions of others.  It was a fact that my family went through a cancer scare with my niece.  It was a fact that there were issues with not knowing where the group Blessed stood regarding its future.  There were so many facts swirling around that vied fore my attention.  It wanted my focus.  When we see with our natural eyes and we focus on facts, it is what shapes our thought life.  Our thought life begins to run rampant and we begin to have mental pictures that are like movies. It's as if a "replay" button has been pressed.  These mind motion pictures begin to shape our thoughts and makes us believe that "This is how it is" or "It is what it is".  NO! It is what God said it is!

When we focus on what's "fallen" rather than what's been paid for and manifested in the heaven's which has been deeded to us, we see no hope.  But, when we see what God sees through Christ's blood, we see health, strength, joy, blessing, grace, peace, faithfulness, hope and inheritance.

When Jesus went around healing, he didn't focus on the sickness.  What better way to have our eyes opened to truth than to see how Jesus saw when He walked this earth.

1. He sees life in the midst of death. When He saw the tomb Lazarus was buried in, He saw him alive and loosed.
2. He sees health in the midst of sickness. When He saw the man with the withered hand, He saw an outstretched hand; healthy and whole.
3. He sees righteousness in the midst of our mistakes. When He saw the woman about to be stoned for her adultery, He saw her forgiven and righteous.
4. He sees wholeness in the midst of brokenness.  When He felt the virtue leave His body, the woman with the issue of blood was not only healed, but made whole.

It doesn't matter how long you've been in a battle; the woman with the issue of blood suffered 12 long years.  It doesn't matter how bad it looks; Lazarus was dead four days and started to decompose.  It doesn't matter how drear your future may look. Jesus was led to the slaughter, but saw Himself resurrected with all power in His hands.  He is now seated at the right hand of the Father, seated in the heavenlies where all of your blessings are located.  As a matter of fact, it is where you are positioned.

It is up to us to ensure that the eyes of our understanding is enlightened and that we know the hope of our calling.  We must see ourselves and our stuff the way that He does.  His love for us should cause us to see truth and not mere facts.  Facts are readily available for view, but truth must be revealed.  Allow for Truth to reveal to you Himself; His unearned favor.

I hope that this word has blessed your heart and transformed your mind.  Please meditate on this word and share it with your friends and family.

I can't wait to fellowship with you!
